In August of 1982, Trio released their first album in the U.K. It was appropriately titled Trio. The album had been released in 1981 in their native Germany. It did not contain their most well-known single, "Da Da Da I Don't Love You, You Don't Love Me Aha Aha Aha", despite the single's release in 1982, because the album had actually been recorded a year ealier. When re-released on CD, the song was added as a bonus track. Yes...both the English and German versions of the song. The Niedersachsen, Germany new wave band called it quits in 1985 after four albums and numerous singles.

Spent years trying to track down this album... finally found if some years back while in Germany ( where it's easier to find than 1 euro copies of Blondie's AUTO AMERICAN! )... along with IDEAL's self titled debut, TRIO was one of the undisputed monuments of Neue Deutsche Welle... an understated masterpiece.... and of course DA DA DA still sounds great too!!!
I really liked the track 'Anna' which in New Zealand was the follow-up single to Da Da Da. Does anyone know where I can get that? It does not appear to be on youtube. CN

....I love the drummer stuffing his face in this one!!

Love this one too... it's their collaboration with Annette Humpe from the wonderful IDEAL!!!.... and on that note I may as well get carried awat with the NDW buzz by posting this too...

Cool, thanks so much for those. I haven't watched yet and can still remember the drummer after 25 years. CN
Thanks again for those links Boz, now had a chance to watvh them. I never heard of Ideal before - that '81 track of theirs was great - really good voice and look. Will now have to search more.

IDEAL's BLAUE AUGEN was a HUGE new wave hit in Germany... it's off their first ( and best - although they're all good ) album of 3. It's still a dancefloor filler and has been covered by lots of people including the happy hardcore annoyance Blumchen who happily isn't widely known outside Germany... you'll find this on youtube as well if you need to know how to ruin a decent song!!!
Forgot to mention, Ideal's guitarist Eff Jot Krüger died in April 2007 of cancer. RIP - Here's another classic German TV mimed performance with Eff Jot singing- taking the piss nicely!!!

You'll be unhappy to learn then that in giving me the link to Ideal, you have turned me onto Blumchen - so hyper, I love some of that stuff!
Will track down Ideal's first album - sounds promising. Love her German vocals.
