Squeeze - Slap & Tickle


On this date in 1979, Squeeze released their sixth single "Slap & Tickle". It was backed by "All's Well". The A side appeared on their second album, Cool For Cats. The B side was a non-LP track. The single reached the #24 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The London new wave band disbanded in 1982 only to re-form in 1985 and stayed intact until 1999. They have recently done some touring together again.

Just one of a run of faultless hit singles right up to LABELLED WITH LOVE after which the quality plummeted into MOR crud...... They had their moment and it was quality while it lasted!!!
