The Ruts - Something That I Said

|

On this date in 1979, The Ruts released their third single, "Something That I Said". The B side was "Give Youth A Chance". The A side appeared on their debut album, The Crack. The B side was a non-LP track that was added as a bonus track when the album was re-released on CD. The London punk/post punk band lasted two albums (the second, a semi-compilation) before the overdose death of singer Malcolm Owen. They tried to carry on under a new name, Ruts DC, with very limited success. They disbanded in 1983.

Incidentally, just rewatched a couple of the clips of the gig they did with Rollins. He did himself proud there... that's an intimidating mic to have to stand in front of!!!
