The Jam - When You're Young

On this date in 1979, The Jam released their eighth single, "When You're Young". It was backed by "Smithers-Jones". The B side appeared on their fourth album, Setting Sons. The A side was left off the album but included on a later CD re-release. The single reached the #17 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Woking, England punk/mod revivalist band disbanded in 1982 after six studio albums. Paul Weller went on to form The Style Council. Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler have toured together since but Paul Weller has no interest in a reunion.
