The Germs - What We Do Is Secret

On this date in 1981, The Germs released their first 12 inch EP (after two 7 inch singles and one album), What We Do Is Secret. It was a compilation of out of print tracks, demo tracks and live tracks and included the single, "Lexicon Devil". This was a posthumous release as singer Darby Crash had died nine months before. The Los Angeles punk band was fronted by Darby Crash, who committed suicide on December 7, 1980 of a planned drug overdose. That was the end of the band. They have re-formed to do shows recently with a new lineup.
