Le Hoodoo Gurus - Leilani

On this date in 1982, Le Hoodoo Gurus released their debut single, "Leilani". It was backed by "Leilani II". The A side appeared on their 1984 debut album, Stoneage Romeos, though it was a different version. The changed their name to Hoodoo Gurus shortly after this debut single. Dave Faulkner had previously been in The Victims. The Sydney, Australia power pop band disbanded in 1998 but re-formed in 2003.

The recording of 'Leilani' on the 1982 single is different than that found on the 1984 'Stoneage Romeos' LP. Both are great though.

It absolutely IS different, and the fact that on the LP they were on a (relatively) major label, with a better producers and studio no doubt had a lot to do with it! Still, you can't keep a great song down!!! jim
