Orange Juice - I Can't Help Myself

On this date in 1982, Orange Juice released their eighth single, "I Can't Help Myself". It was backed by "Tongues Begin To Wag". The A side appeared on their second album, Rip It Up. The B side was a non-LP track. The 12 inch single offered one additional non-LP track, "Barbecue". Both non-LP tracks were added as bonuses on a later CD release of Rip It Up. The single reached the #42 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Glasgow, Scotland post punk band released four albums before disbanding in 1985. Lead singer Edwyn Collins would embark on a successful solo career and have a #4 hit in the U.K. in 1994 with "A Girl Like You".
