Wall Of Voodoo

On this date in 1980, Wall Of Voodoo released their self-titled debut EP. The six songs included were "Longarm", "The Passenger", "Can't Make Love", "Struggle", "Ring Of Fire" and "Granma's House". This was their first release of any kind. None of the songs were released as singles nor were any of the tracks included on any of their full-length albums. The Los Angeles post-punk/new wave band disbanded in 1988.

Just six months ago, "Mexican Radio" was the only thing about WoV that I knew. Now, they are my favorite group, thanks to this blog, from which they came highly recommended. I listened to almost nothing else all summer, and bought this release and Call Of The West on CD the moment I ran across them in a store. Thanks for everything!

Thanks Vic, glad we turned you onto something "new". I saw WoV at a club back in the 80s. Great band. You should also check out Stan Ridgway's solo stuff
