Television - Little Johnny Jewel

On this date in 1975, Television released their debut single, "Little Johnny Jewel Part 1". It was backed by "Little Johnny Jewel Part 2". The song was too long to put on one side of a 7 inch so they split it (they would also do this with the "Marquee Moon" 7-inch later). The song did not appear on their debut album, Marquee Moon, but was added as a bonus when re-released on CD. The New York City proto punk band and CBGB's regular disbanded in 1978 but have gotten together a few times since for reunions and to do some recording. Richard Hell (of The Heartbreakers and The Voidoids) was an original member.
