The Rezillos - I Can't Stand My Baby

On this date in 1977, The Rezillos released their debut single, "I Can't Stand My Baby". It was backed by "I Wanna Be Your Man". The A side appeared on their debut album, Can't Stand The Rezillos, but the single version was more raw. The B side was a non-LP track. The single did not chart originally but, upon its re-release in 1979, reached the #71 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Edinburgh, Scotland punk/new wave band disbanded in 1978. Eugene Reynolds and Faye Fife re-formed under the name The Revillos (due to contractual obligations, they could not use the name "Rezillos"). Jo Callis and Simon Templar formed Shake. Not long afterwards, Jo Callis would join The Human League. The Rezillos have re-formed since.
