Oingo Boingo - Only A Lad

On this date in 1981, Oingo Boingo released their first single, "Only A Lad". It was backed by "Ain't This The Life". It was a very limited edition that was distributed regionally. Both songs appeared on their self-titled four song EP in 1980. The A side also appeared on their first full length album, Only A Lad. The Los Angeles band had once been known as The Mystic Knights Of The Oingo Boingo. They disbanded in 1995. Frontman Danny Elfman went on to become a well-known composer, writing the scores for Peewee's Big Adventure and numerous Tim Burton movies among others. He also composed "The Simpsons Theme" and the theme to "Desperate Housewives".
