The Hates - No Talk In The Eighties

On this date in 1979, The Hates released their debut EP, No Talk In The Eighties. Aside from the title track, the seven inch had "New Spartans", "All The Whites Are Going Negro" and "Last Hymn". This record is credited as being Houston's first punk release. None of the songs appeared on a regular album as they didn't release one until 1982 (it was called Panacea). They released three EP's and an album during their original stint. The Houston, Texas punk band is back playing live after a lengthy hiatus.
