Delta 5 - Powerlines

On this date in 1982, Delta 5 released their fifth and final single, "Powerlines". It was backed by "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter". The band released only one album, See The Whirl, and this single was recorded after that release so neither side made it to LP. The Leeds, England post punk band originally started out as a three piece, all girl band, but they went through numerous lineup changes that were not limited to the female gender. Due to the changes in lineup and the weak album sales, the band called it quits by the time 1981 ended with five singles and one album to their credit. The lineup who recorded this final single included Jackie Callis, sister of Jo Callis (of The Rezillos and The Human League).
