Cockney Rejects - Flares 'N' Slippers

On this date in 1979, Cockney Rejects released their debut single, "Flares 'N' Slippers". It was backed by "Police Car" and "I Wanna Be A Star". While "Police Car" appeared on their debut album, Greatest Hits Volume 1, it was a different cut than the single. The other two songs were excluded from the album. When it was re-released on CD, all three songs were added as bonuses and were the same versions that appeared on the single. The first three Cockney rejects albums were named Greatest Hits and were differentiated by their volumes, numbered I, II and III. They were not greatest hits albums; just their first, second and third albums. The London punk/Oi! band is still going strong.
