The Clash - Bankrobber

On this date in 1980, The Clash released their fourteenth single, "Bankrobber". It was backed by "Rockers Galore...U.K. Tour". Neither song appeared on a regular album but the A side was included on their first compilation, Black Market Clash, essentially a collection of B sides. Inexplicably, it did not appear on Super Black Market Clash, the expanded CD version, though a dub of the song did. The B side did not appear on either version. The single reached the #12 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The London punk band disbanded in 1986. Mick Jones formed Big Audio Dynamite. Joe Strummer was involved in many projects until his death in 2002.
