The Tourists - The Loneliest Man In The World


On this date in 1979, The Tourists released their second single, "The Loneliest Man In The World". It was backed by "Don't Get Left Behind". Both songs were included on their self-titled debut album. This was the second time the single was released. This second release was a re-recorded version that differed from the album version. The first time out, the single reached the #52 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The second time, the single reached the #32 spot. The London new wave band disbanded in 1980 after three albums. Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox would be starting a new band soon. They called it Eurythmics.
