Stray Cats - Built For Speed

On this date in 1982, Stray Cats released their first U.S. album, Built For Speed. The Massapequa, NY trio had already released two albums in the U.K. The U.S. release was a combination of the two U.K. albums with more tracks coming from their self-titled U.K. debut. It was a success as "Rock This Town" reached the #9 spot on the U.S. singles chart and "Stray Cat Strut" reached the #3 spot. The album, itself, reached the #2 spot on the U.S. albums chart. The Massapequa, NY rockabilly band broke up in 1984 but periodically reunites for performances.
