The Stranglers - Something Better Change

On this date in 1977, The Stranglers released their third single, "Something Better Change". It was backed by "Straighten Out". The A side appeared on their second album, No More Heroes. The B side was a non-LP track but it was added to the album as a bonus track when it was re-released on CD. The single reached the #9 spot on the U.K. singles chart. There was also a 12 inch version which offered two more songs, "(Get A) Grip (On Yourself)" and "Hanging Around". These two tracks were on their debut album, Rattus Norvegicus. The Surrey, U.K. punk/post punk band is still performing and recording, though without original lead singer, Hugh Cornwell, who left in 1990.
