The Rods - Do Anything You Wanna Do

On this date in 1977, The Rods released their fifth single. The Rods were Eddie and The Hot Rods and this was a new name for them. Overall, this was their sixth single. The A side was "Do Anything You Wanna Do". The B side was "Schoolgirl Love". The A side appeared on their second album, Life On The Line. The B side did not but it was added as a bonus when it was re-released on CD. The single reached the #9 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Essex, U.K. power-pop/proto punk band disbanded in 1981. Bassist Paul Gray left before the end to play in The Damned. The band re-formed a few times since and has been playing live recently.
