On this date in 1981, Punts released their debut single, "Shelly's Boyfriend". It was backed by "Rochambeau". It was the San Franscisco power pop band's only release. They changed their name to Bonnie Hayes and The Wild Combo after this. The A side was re-released under their new name and appeared on the new group's debut album but it was a different version.
