Polecats - Jeepster


On this date in 1981, Polecats released their third single, "Jeepster". The B side was "Mary Celeste". The 12 inch version had two additional tracks, "Hip Hip Baby" and "Down The Line". The A side was a cover of T-Rex song (with a rockabilly sound) and, along with "Mary Celeste" were included on their debut album, Polecats Are Go! The two bonus 12 inch tracks were added as bonus tracks to the album when it was re-released on CD. The single reached the #53 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Middlesex, England rockabilly band released four singles and the one album before breaking up in 1983. They get together occasionally to tour and record new material.
