We're slackers...

We don't update The P5 every day like we used to. So when we slack off, just use the search box up there on the right. Yeah, the red box, that's it. Search The P5 Archives. You'll be glad you did.

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Talking Loud And Clear

|

In July of 1984, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark released their twelfth single, "Talking Loud And Clear". It was backed by "Julia's Song". The A side appeared on their fifth album, Junk Culture. The B side was a non-LP track. The single reached the #11 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Cheshire, England new wave band was led by Paul Humphreys (ex-Dalek I Love You) and Andy McCluskey. When Humphries left in 1989, McCluskey kept the band going until 1996. They have recently re-formed with the classic line-up.

Reminds me of the cover of a c. 1991 Beautiful South single--was it "My Book" or "Let Love Speak Up Itself"?
