The Nips - Only The End Of The Beginning

On this date in 1980, The Nips released their one and only album, Only The End Of The Beginning. It was a live album released a few months after they broke up. It contained live versions of all four of their singles, "King Of The Bop", "All The Time In The World", "Gabrielle" and "Happy Song". They had been called The Nipple Erectors but radio wouldn't touch the name so they shortened it. The London punk band was led by Shane McGowan (later, of The Pogues) though he was known as Shane O'Hooligan at the time. They have played some reunion gigs recently.
