New York Dolls

In July of 1973, New York Dolls released their self-titled debut album. It produced the singles, "Trash", "Personality Crisis", "Jet Boy" and "Looking For A Kiss". The New York City glam/proto punk band released two albums before disbanding in 1976. David Johansen went solo and performed as Buster Poindexter for awhile. Johnny Thunders and Jerry Nolan went on to form The Heartbreakers. Arthur Kane and Sylvain Sylvain were involved in various projects. In 2004, the three surviving members, David, Arthur and Sylvain, re-formed the band. Arthur Kane has since passed away but the other two continue on leading the revamped lineup.
