The Lambrettas - Another Day (Another Girl)

On this date in 1980, The Lambrettas released their fourth single, "Another Day (Another Girl)". The B side was "Steppin' Out (Of Line)". The A side appeared on their debut album, Beat Boys In The Jet Age, but was called "Page 3". An injunction by The Sun had prevented them from using the "Page 3" name anymore so the single version was re-named. The B side was a non-LP track. The Brighton, England mod band named themselves after a motorbike popular with the mod revivalists. The Lambrettas released nine singles and two albums before disbanding in 1982.

I used to save my dinner money at school to buy all sorts of records, this was one them. I was a bit of a moddy boy in those days - still have a scooter, etc.

Shame about Jez Bird who passed away last year.

Their debut single "Go Stready" was produced by non other than Pete Waterman.

Great band, great times.
