The Killjoys - Johnny Won't Get To Heaven

On this date in 1977, The Killjoys released their debut single, "Johnny Won't Get To Heaven". It was backed by "Naive". The band was fronted by ex-Lucy and The Lovers' guitarist Kevin Rowland, who would be better known in the future as the frontman for Dexy's Midnight Runners. The Killjoys, however, were nothing like Dexy's Midnight Runners at all. This was pure punk. The Birmingham, England punk band released just one single and they broke up before releasing an album.
