On this date in 1981, Jody Foster's Army released their debut EP, Blatant Localism. It was a six song EP that featured "Out Of School", "JFA", "Do The Hannigan", "Count", "Beach Blanket Bong-Out" and "Cokes And Snickers". The Phoenix, Arizona hardcore punk band is still performing.

Back in the day, this was like the Rosetta stone for me...I spent most of '82 listening to this record, trying to pick out the tunes on my shitty Strat copy, and trying to work up the nerve to wear a pair of shorts as cool as the ones the guy on the cover was wearing...
