On this date in 1979, Ian Dury & The Blockheads released their sixth single, "Reasons To Be Cheerful, Part 3". It was backed by "Common As Muck". Neither of these tracks initially appeared on an album, but both were added to their second album, Do It Yourself, when it was re-released on CD. The single reached the #3 spot on the U.K. singles chart. FYI - There was no "Reasons To Be Cheerful", parts 1 or 2. The London punk/post-punk band was fronted by Ian Dury. They disbanded in 1981. After a solo career, Dury worked again with The Blockheads before his death on March 27, 2000.
