Go-Go's - Beauty And The Beat

On this date in 1981, Go-Go's released their debut album, Beauty And The Beat. It contained the singles, "Our Lips Are Sealed" (#20 U.S., #47 U.K.), "Automatic" and "We Got The Beat" (#2 U.S.) The album, itself, reached the #1 spot on the U.S. albums chart but did not make the charts in the U.K. The Los Angeles new wave all-girl band broke up in 1985 but re-formed in 1990 and are still performing.
