Can't Stand The Rezillos

|

On this date in 1978, The Rezillos released their debut album, Can't Stand The Rezillos. It produced four singles, "I Can't Stand My Baby" (did not chart, though it reached the #71 spot in the U.K. when re-released in 1979), "Cold Wars", "Top Of The Pops" (#17 U.K.) and "(My Baby Does) Good Sculptures". The album reached the #16 spot on the U.K. albums chart. The Edinburgh, Scotland punk/new wave band disbanded in 1978. Eugene Reynolds and Faye Fife re-formed under the name The Revillos (due to contractual obligations, they could not use the name "Rezillos"). Jo Callis and Simon Templar formed Shake. Not long afterwards, Jo Callis would join The Human League. The Rezillos have re-formed since.
