Skrewdriver - Built Up, Knocked Down

On this date in 1979, Skrewdriver released their third 7 inch, an EP called Built Up, Knocked Down. It contained the title track plus "A Case Of Pride" and "Breakout". None of these songs appeared on a regular album. In fact, this was their last release before breaking up. The Blackpool, England punk disbanded in 1979. They re-formed in 1982 with Ian Stuart Donaldson being the sole original member and went from being punks to being skinheads. Their early concerts had always attracted some violence but, upon playing again in 1982, they were openly neo-Nazi. This infuriated the original members of the band whose values did not match Donaldson's new message. The end for the band came on September 24, 1993 when Donaldson died in a car accident.
