Sex Pistols - (I'm Not Your) Stepping Stone

On this date in 1980, Sex Pistols released their eleventh single, "Stepping Stone". It was backed with "Propaganda". The A side was a cover of The Monkees' song and appeared on The Great Rock 'N' Roll Swindle soundtrack. The B side was a non-LP track that was essentially sound bytes and clips. The single reached the #21 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The London punk band disbanded in 1978 when Johnny Rotten quit but the name lived on in various incarnations for a few more years (or as long as Malcolm McLaren could squeeze more money out of the name). There was only one official album. They have done reunions on a few occasions since 1978.
