The Ruts - Babylon's Burning

On this date in 1979, The Ruts released their second single, "Babylon's Burning". It was backed by "Society". The A side appeared on their debut album, The Crack. The B side did not appear on an album until 1980's semi-compilation, Grin & Bear It. The single reached the #7 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The London punk/post punk band changed its name to Ruts DC after the heroin overdose death of their singer, Malcolm Owen (July 14, 1980) but had limited success.
