Crass - Reality Asylum

On this date in 1979, Crass released their debut single, "Reality Asylum". It was backed by "Shaved Women". Neither song appeared on an album, despite the fact that this single was sandwiched between their first and second LP. The A side was removed from the original plan for the album because of protests raised by workers at the plant who were pressing the album. It was later re-added on later releases. The single made it to the #9 spot on the U.K. indie singles chart. The Essex, U.K. punk band released five albums and several EP's and singles before disbanding in 1984.
