The Vapors - New Clear Days


On this date in 1980, The Vapors released their debut album, New Clear Days. The album contained the singles, "Turning Japanese" (#3 U.K., #36 U.S.), "Waiting For The Weekend" and "News At Ten" (#44 U.K.). The Canadian version also included their single, "Prisoners". The album did not chart. The Guildford, England band was from the same area as The Jam and were managed by Bruce Foxton of The Jam. The new wave/power pop band called it quits in 1981 after two albums.
