Teenage Jesus and The Jerks - Orphans


On this date in 1978, Teenage Jesus and the Jerks released their debut single, "Orphans". It was backed by "Less Of Me". The group was from New York and was fronted by Lydia Lunch. The tracks did not appear on an album but were collected on a compilation in 1995 called Everything. The New York City no wave band was led by Lydia Lunch (8 Eyed Spy) and James Chance (The Contortions). They disbanded in 1979 after two singles and an EP.
