Sex Pistols - God Save The Queen

On this date in 1977, Sex Pistols released their second single, "God Save The Queen". It was backed by "Did You No Wrong". The A side appeared on their debut album, Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols. The B side was a non-LP track. Despite being banned by the BBC and not being carried in a lot of record shops, the single reached the #2 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The London punk band disbanded in 1978 when Johnny Rotten quit but the name lived on in various incarnations for a few more years (or as long as Malcolm McLaren could squeeze more money out of the name). There was only one official album. They have done reunions on a few occasions since 1978.
