The Raincoats - Running Away

On this date in 1982, The Raincoats released their second single, "Running Away". It was backed by "No One's Little Girl". The A side did not appear on a studio album but the B side wound up on their third studio album, Moving, released in 1984. The London post-punk band originally included Nick Turner on drums (later of The Barracudas) and then Richard Dudanski (later of Public Image Ltd) before Palmolive (ex-Slits) became the drummer and made it an all-girl band. They disbanded in 1984 after four albums. They re-formed in 1993 and released some new material. They have performed together a few times since.
