Protex - I Can't Cope

|

On this date in 1979, Protex released their second single, "I Can't Cope". It was backed by "Popularity". Both tracks appeared on their only album, Strange Obsessions. The Belfast, Northern Ireland punk band released four singles and an album before disbanding in 1981. They were originally named Protex Blue after a song by The Clash.

I think of it as less punk than as maximum-velocity power pop, but it's a great cut in any case. And thanks for the great blog!

What a brilliant band, I love their records! So sadly underrated! Thank you for sharing, once again!
