On this date in 1981, Oingo Boingo released their debut album, Only A Lad. The only single released from the album was the lead track from their previously released EP, Only A Lad, but it was re-recorded for the album. The Los Angeles band had once been known as The Mystic Knights Of The Oingo Boingo. They disbanded in 1995. Frontman Danny Elfman went on to become a well-known composer, writing the scores for Peewee's Big Adventure and numerous Tim Burton movies among others. He also composed "The Simpsons Theme" and the theme to "Desperate Housewives".
