Nipple Erectors - King Of The Bop

On this date in 1978, Nipple Erectors released their debut single, "King Of The Bop". It was backed by "Nervous Wreck". They soon changed their name to The Nips since the radio would touch them with their present name. The London punk band released four singles and a live album before disbanding in 1980. The band was led by Shane McGowan (later, of The Pogues) though he was known as Shane O'Hooligan at the time. They have played some reunion gigs recently.
