Nick Lowe - Labour Of Lust


On this date in 1979, Nick Lowe released his second album, Labour Of Lust. The album contained the singles, "Cracking Up" (#34 U.K.) and "Cruel To Be Kind" (#12 U.K. and #12 U.S.). "Cruel To Be Kind" was a slowed down version of the song that was released as a B side in 1978. The U.S. version also included the U.K. single "American Squirm". The album reached the #31 spot in the U.S. The power pop singer from Surrey, England, once teamed up with Dave Edmunds in Rockpile, is still performing.
