Magazine - Upside Down

|

On this date in 1980, Magazine released their seventh single, "Upside Down". It was backed by "The Light Pours Out Of Me". The A side did not appear on an album. The B side was a track from their 1978 debut album, Real Life, but was re-recorded for this single. The Manchester, England post punk band, fronted by original Buzzcocks' frontman Howard Devoto, disbanded in 1981 after four studio albums and one live album. Devoto went on to form Luxuria, Barry Adamson soon joined Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, and John McGeoch was later in Siouxsie and The Banshees, Visage and Public Image Ltd.
