INXS - Simple Simon

On this date in 1980, INXS released their debut single, "Simple Simon". It was backed by "We Are The Vegetables". The single was only released in their native Australia and the song did not appear on their debut album, INXS, except on the Australian version. The new wave band came to a sudden halt when lead singer Michael Hutchence died on November 22, 1997, apparently due to hanging by his own hands. They found a new singer a couple of years ago and have recorded and performed. The replacement singer has recently been given his walking papers by the band. INXS was originally called The Farriss Brothers, named after bandmember brothers, Andrew, Jon and Tim.

Deluxe records released an LP called Inxsive 1980-82 ("incl.six tracks unavailable on albums") with the both abovementioned tracks from the single. There were 13 tracks on this compilation. No year of release printed, but it was probably in the shops around 1982-83, me thinks.
