Devo - Freedom Of Choice


On this date in 1980, Devo released their third album, Freedom Of Choice. The album contained the singles, "Girl U Want", "Whip It" (#14 U.S., #51 U.K.) "Gates of Steel" and "Freedom of Choice". The album reached the #22 spot on the U.S. albums chart and the #47 spot on the U.K. albums chart. The Akron, Ohio punk/new wave band went on hiatus in the early 90's as the band members were involved in separate projects. They resumed recording and performing in 1996.
