The Clash - Remote Control

On this date in 1977, The Clash released their second single (with an EP between the first and second), "Remote Control". It was backed by a live version of "London's Burning". The A side appeared on their self-titled debut album as did the studio version of the B side. It is not exactly accurate to say that The Clash released their song as their third single. They had no say and their record company released it which infuriated them. It inspired some of the lyrics to "Complete Control". The London punk band disbanded in 1986. Mick Jones formed Big Audio Dynamite. Joe Strummer was involved in many projects until his death in 2002.
