Adam Ant - Goody Two Shoes

On this date in 1982, Adam Ant released his first solo single, "Goody Two Shoes". It was backed by a non-LP track called "Red Scab" that was written in 1977. The A side appeared on his solo debut album, Friend Or Foe. The B side did not. In the U.S., the single would be released later in the year with "Crackpot History" as the B side which would appear on the album. The single reached the #1 spot on the U.K. singles chart while reaching the #12 spot in the U.S. The London punk/new wave singer was, of course, the frontman for the recently disbanded Adam and The Ants. When he went solo, he took guitarist Marco Pirroni with him.
