Vic Godard & Subway Sect - Split Up The Money

|

On this date in 1980, Vic Godard & The Subway Sect released their first single under the new group name. The A side was "Split Up The Money". The B side was "Out Of Touch". Both songs appeared on their debut album What's The Matter Boy? They had released two singles under their original name, Subway Sect, without an album, previously. After a breakup, the London punk band re-formed a few years later as Vic Godard & Subway Sect with frontman Vic Godard as the only remaining member. This incarnation disbanded in 1981. Vic Godard retired from music but had done some work under the Subway Sect name in the last few years.
