Simple Minds - Life In A Day


On this date in 1979, Simple Minds released their debut single, "Life In A Day". It was backed by "Special View". The A side appeared on their debut album, Life In A Day. The B side did not. The single reached the #62 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The album was released this same date. Aside from "Life In A Day", it also the single, "Chelsea Girl". The album reached the #30 spot on the U.K. albums chart. Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill had started out together in a punk band called Johnny & The Self Abusers. They disbanded and Simple Minds was formed. The Glasgow, Scotland new wave band continues on.
