Simple Minds - Don't You (Forget About Me)

In April of 1985, Simple Minds released their sixteenth single, "Don't You (Forget About Me)". It was backed by "A Brass Band In Africa". The A side was from the movie The Breakfast Club and did not appear on any of their studio albums. The B side was also a non-LP track. The single was actually released in the U.S. two months earlier. The single reached the #7 spot on the U.K. singles chart and the #1 spot in the U.S. Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill had started out together in a punk band called Johnny & The Self Abusers. They disbanded and Simple Minds was formed. The Glasgow, Scotland new wave band continues on.
